What is CBT ?

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an empirically supported approach to psychotherapy used to treat a range of psychological disorders and emotional problems. CBT is based on the hypothesis that people’s emotions and behaviors are influenced by the way they perceive and interpret situations and not by the situations themselves. CBT focuses on how thoughts affect feelings and behaviors. In CBT clients learn and acquire coping skills to modify problematic behaviors and thoughts.
